In Tremulous defensive buildings pack considerably more punch. Bases in NS1/2 largely feel pointless and are minor annoyances at best. It disproportionately favours the better players in terms of weapons/lifeforms, but Trem lets you grab them very fast anyway that it's not much of a problem.Īnother fantastic aspect of Tremulous is a better focus on basebuilding. It's all about kill count, and kill count has always been more friendly towards new users as it's a lot easier to understand and stomach if you're losing. Tremulous also has no resource gathering, so there's no such thing as an economic loss. NS1/2 severely punish the lost of a weapon or lifeform. You just respawn and grab a new lifeform or weapon in a minute or two. It's definitely a lot more newb friendly as there's very little punishment for dying. Fantastic game that never got boring, and also wasn't frustrating as it's a game that's more about just having fun than anything else. So yeah, did anyone else play this free old game in the past ? I decided to start the thread here since it seems to bet he most appropriate place, the game is basicly just a diffrent version of Natural Selection. I wanted to start a discusion about this game to see if anyone in NS2 played it in the past, according to the wiki there was a fiarly big war between NS1 and Tremulous players back in the day, they constantly kept yelling at each other "copy cat" since both games are very similar, i just hope this discussion won't turn into that :P.Īccording to reports, the game is dead nowadays and theres only a handfull of people still playing it. It was my first online Multiplayer experience and the game was stupidly popular when i first played it, so many servers, so many players, i played the game like a crackmaniac.
